Today we are wandering with Wendy from WorldWideWendy. Hi Wendy, Please tell me a little about yourself.
I am Wendy, a Belgian traveleraddict, foodie and bon vivant. In 2017 I have been married for 20 years to my soulmate and travel companion. Add in two great sons and a dog in and the picture is perfect. I have traveled around a lot over the years and played a long time with the idea to do something with all the information I gathered. Et voila, WorldWideWendy was born. I write about luxury travel with kids. I want to show people that you can travel the world, even with young children. Most of the time I travel with my husband & kids but I also like to make city trips with my BFF. I have traveled to over 60 countries and I want to reach 100 countries before I am 50 (6 more years to go).
Where are you currently?
I am at home, in between 2 holidays. Sometimes I have to work 🙁
Where do you want to go next? What are your future travel plans?
In 10 days I am going to Switzerland to attend a wedding. On the way over there we will make a short stop in Germany and on the way back we will stay for 1 night in Montreux (Switzerland). After that I go to Ibiza with my BFF and in November I go to Singapore and Bali with my husband and kids.
Where is home? Name one thing that you always recommend to people that visit?
I live in Belgium. If you ever visit it, take an umbrella. It rains a lot.
Where has been your favourite place to visit? Why?
If I really have to choose: South-Africa. It has everything. Nice climate, beautiful scenery, amazing food and friendly people.
Where didn’t you like/where were you disappointed with? Why?
I didn’t like Crete. It was dirty and I don’t like Greek food.
Three things on your wander list
2. Seeing tigers in India
3. Cruising the Panama Canal
What items do you never leave behind when you travel?
How do you track your expenses whilst you are away?
What are you reading at the moment?
The newest Santa Montefiore.
If you could go back in time and be the first person to explore/find a place in the world, where would you want it to be?
Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe
Thank you so much, Wendy, it has been great finding out all about your travels.
